Karim Sarhane, MD, is a general and advanced laparoscopic surgeon with a background in research, education, and clinical care. A Consultant Surgeon at Burjeel Royal Hospital in Abu Dhabi, he has expertise in thyroid/parathyroid diseases, breast disorders, and colorectal diseases. Dr. Karim Sarhane is adept at robotic surgeries and undertakes complex procedures such as abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repair.

Dr. Sarhane earned a BS in biology at the American University of Beirut, He went on to obtain his MD and a Master’s of Science in biochemistry and molecular genetics at the same institution. He completed a research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University at the end of which he received distinction for the best basic science paper. This was at the 6th Annual Resident Research Symposium for “Selectively permeable nanofiber construct for optimizing peripheral nerve repair.”

Karim Sarhane, MD, earned additional certification in clinical trials at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Department of Epidemiology. In his free time, he enjoys activities like windsurfing, swimming, and attending concerts.
